During my recent weekend at the Hwy 17 Hotel in Wawa, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience, especially given its proximity to the scenic wonders of Northern Ontario. The newly renovated rooms, complete with comfortable beds and good amenities, made for a relaxing stay. I appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff at the 24-hour front desk, who were eager to provide information about the local area-a true bonus for anyone exploring the region. Our double room featured a charming balcony, allowing us to unwind with a cup of tea while enjoying the fresh air. Though the hotel's location slightly outside of town means dining options are limited, the hotel's cleanliness and overall ambience certainly made up for it. With the quick access to Sandy Beach and Scenic High Falls, it proved to be an ideal base for us to unwind after our archaeological adventures.
